Ancient Apparition vs Disruptor

How this matchup plays

Committing Static Storm to kill one hero often requires Disruptor's whole team to pile in for the burst damage. This is exactly the kind of clumping that Ancient Apparition preys on with Ice Blast. While AA can't save the target caught in Disruptor's combo, he can make the follow-up a disaster for the enemy team. By preventing all healing and regeneration on everyone caught in the blast, he turns what should be a clean pick-off into a messy, losing fight for Disruptor's side. It’s a classic case of winning the battle but losing the war.

Early on, both heroes trade harass and function as typical supports. The advantage for Ancient Apparition appears later, once teams start moving as a unit. Disruptor’s game plan revolves around finding a good Glimpse to initiate a fight. The moment his team commits to that target, a well-placed Ice Blast from AA can cripple their ability to sustain through the resulting brawl. Even if Disruptor secures his kill, his allies are now unable to recover from any damage they took in the process, often leading to them losing more heroes in return.
