How this matchup plays

Catching Hoodwink with a spell like Cold Feet can feel impossible. Her Scurry lets her easily break the stun by running near trees, and her general slipperiness makes her a difficult target for an Ice Blast finisher. While Ancient Apparition’s ultimate is a global threat that can punish anyone caught out of position, Hoodwink is rarely that person. Her entire kit is built around mobility and positioning, allowing her to play from the safety of the treeline and dodge slow-moving projectiles. She's fragile, but AA lacks the instant lockdown needed to exploit that weakness reliably.

In teamfights, these two heroes often end up ignoring each other. Ancient Apparition wants to stay far back, landing Ice Vortex and a fight-winning ultimate on the enemy frontline. Hoodwink prefers to stay on the fringes, using Acorn Shot to deal damage and looking for a Bushwhack on a key target. Neither hero has the tools to effectively hunt and kill the other. The outcome of their fights usually depends on which hero's team can better execute their own plan, rather than on a direct interaction between Hoodwink and AA themselves.
