Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Ancient Apparition wins the Ancient Apparition vs Kez matchup: Ancient Apparition beats Kez in 56.05% of 11,860 ranked matches.
Thinking Kez can win fights by parrying key spells and lifestealing through damage is a common mistake. The problem is Ancient Apparition’s Ice Blast. It doesn't matter how well Kez times his defensive abilities or how much lifesteal he has built; once that ultimate's debuff is on him, all healing is turned off. His entire playstyle as a durable duelist who sustains through long engagements is completely disabled. He’s left as a fragile hero with no way to recover health mid-fight, making him a much easier target to focus.
This dynamic starts defining fights as soon as Ancient Apparition gets his ultimate. Kez has to play with constant awareness of it, often forcing him to hesitate or stay on the edges of a fight. His team fights knowing their carry can't fully commit if marked, while AA's team knows their primary job is to land that one spell on him. This pressure often forces Kez into buying early defensive items that delay his damage, or playing so cautiously that he can’t have the impact his team needs from a carry position.
