Ancient Apparition vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a charging Legion Commander often feels ineffective for an Ancient Apparition. Legion Commander’s Press the Attack provides a basic dispel on demand, allowing her to simply remove the threat of a Cold Feet stun and continue her assault. This makes it difficult for Ancient Apparition to set up kills or peel for his allies against her. Furthermore, AA himself is a perfect target for a Duel. He's exceptionally fragile and lacks any sort of escape mechanism, making him a reliable source of bonus damage once she acquires a Blink Dagger.

Throughout the game, Legion Commander will actively look for opportunities to initiate on Ancient Apparition, often seeing him as the key to winning a teamfight. AA’s main recourse is to play from extreme distances, using vision and his teammates as a shield. While a well-timed Ice Blast on a Duel can negate healing and swing the outcome, it requires perfect positioning and timing under pressure. The burden of execution is higher for the Ancient Apparition, as he is constantly on the defensive against a hero who has a direct answer to his kit.
