Playing as a fragile damage core often means relying on lifesteal or regeneration to survive teamfights. Lina is no exception, frequently building items that let her sustain through return damage after unloading her spells. Ancient Apparition’s Ice Blast directly counters this entire strategy. The healing prevention means that once Lina is hit, she has no way to recover health during a fight. Any damage she takes sticks, making it much easier for Ancient Apparition's team to focus her down before she can get a second rotation of spells off.

This dynamic forces a change in how both heroes approach engagements. A smart Lina will prioritize vision control and try to end fights quickly, often by bursting Ancient Apparition himself before he can even cast his ultimate. Lina has the long-range spells to initiate on a poorly positioned AA. In response, Ancient Apparition has to play from extreme range, relying on his team to provide vision and setup.
