Anti-Mage vs Marci

How this matchup plays

Forcing Anti-Mage off his farming pattern is where Marci finds her opening. Her kit is well-suited to locking down and bursting a single target. A successful Dispose can catch Anti-Mage out of position and set him up for a quick death, as he's naturally weak to physical damage before he gets items. His Counterspell offers little protection from her assault, since most of her threat comes from right clicks boosted by Unleash. This constant threat of a physical lockdown and burst combo makes the map feel much smaller and more dangerous for him.

This pressure is most intense during the mid-game. Marci wants to group with her team and hunt for kills, and Anti-Mage is often the primary target. A few successful ganks can severely delay the items he needs to come online. To win, the Anti-Mage player must play with exceptional caution, using Blink to farm in safer areas and avoid her aggression. If he can survive this difficult timing and secure his core items, he can begin to out-maneuver Marci's team and the advantage fades.
