Anti-Mage vs Ringmaster

How this matchup plays

Farming the map against a Ringmaster feels a bit safer for Anti-Mage than for most other carries. His mobility from Blink allows him to dodge the setups and traps Ringmaster relies on to start a fight. Even if a spell lands, Anti-Mage's Counterspell can often negate the crucial follow-up stun that would secure a kill, letting him escape. This fundamental difficulty in pinning him down means Ringmaster has a hard time slowing his farm. Anti-Mage can apply pressure more freely, which lets him build his item advantage and control the game's tempo.

The matchup becomes a game of cat and mouse. Ringmaster needs to coordinate with teammates, using vision and smoke to set up a chain of disables that Anti-Mage cannot escape. It takes more than one hero's lockdown to deal with him. Anti-Mage, on the other hand, plays around this by carefully choosing where to show on the map, always keeping an eye out for missing heroes. If Ringmaster and his team fail to punish Anti-Mage's split-pushing in the mid-game, he eventually becomes too farmed and slippery to handle.
