Anti-Mage vs Sven

How this matchup plays

Sven’s lockdown from Storm Hammer is a direct threat to Anti-Mage, pinning him down long enough for a kill. If Sven gets the jump with God's Strength active, his immense physical damage can often overwhelm Anti-Mage's low health pool before he can react. Warcry also makes it difficult for Anti-Mage and his Manta Style illusions to do meaningful right-click damage in a head-to-head fight. The entire engagement often hinges on whether Anti-Mage can successfully predict and reflect that initial stun with Counterspell, which can completely turn a gank around.

The mid-game becomes a game of cat and mouse. Anti-Mage wants to abuse his Blink mobility to split-push, out-farm Sven, and only take fights once he has an item like Abyssal Blade to initiate himself. Sven’s goal is the opposite: he wants to group up, force objectives, and use a Blink Dagger of his own to find and burst the Anti-Mage. Because AM is so good at controlling the map and avoiding bad situations, Sven's raw power advantage only gives him a small edge.
