Anti-Mage vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to create chaos as Weaver feels a lot harder when Anti-Mage is in the game. Weaver relies on Shukuchi to weave in and out of fights and Time Lapse to escape bad situations, both of which have a mana cost. Anti-Mage's entire approach involves using Blink to close distances and draining a target's mana with his attacks. This directly attacks Weaver’s survivability, leaving him without his key defensive abilities when he needs them most. Even a quick trade can leave Weaver without enough mana to cast his ultimate, turning him into an easy target.

The lane itself might feel even, but the pressure mounts as Anti-Mage picks up his core farming items. Weaver wants to split-push and be elusive, but Anti-Mage often has the same idea, and he's better equipped to win a one-on-one fight if they cross paths. Weaver has to play very carefully, using his mobility to avoid contact entirely. Anti-Mage only needs to find him once or twice to burn away his mana and secure a kill, giving him a small but consistent advantage in those mid-game skirmishes.
