Arc Warden vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by an Invoker can feel impossible for Arc Warden. A well-placed Tornado can lift him right out of his own Magnetic Field, leaving him exposed to follow-up spells like EMP or Cold Snap without his evasion. Deafening Blast also disarms him, completely shutting down his right-click damage from both the hero and the Tempest Double. However, Arc Warden isn't helpless. A pre-placed Magnetic Field can make it very difficult for an Exort-focused Invoker to land his attacks, and a nest of Spark Wraiths makes it dangerous for Invoker to walk up and start a combo.

The matchup often comes down to who gets the first move. Arc Warden tries to play from a distance, using his Tempest Double to apply pressure and force Invoker to react across the map. This constant split-pushing can make it hard for Invoker to set up kills. In response, a smart Invoker will try to find the real Arc Warden, often with a Blink Dagger, and use his lockdown before the Field can be placed. If Arc Warden can successfully avoid direct confrontations and chip away at the map, he can win. If Invoker can repeatedly find and burst the main hero, he shuts down the entire strategy.
