Arc Warden vs Luna

How this matchup plays

A race to control the map's resources often defines this matchup. Luna's bouncing Moon Glaives let her farm incredibly fast, and that same effect lets her demolish Arc Warden's Tempest Double almost instantly in a fight. This can severely limit Arc's ability to pressure the map or contribute to teamfights. Arc Warden, however, can bring Luna's entire damage output to a halt with a well-placed Magnetic Field. The complete evasion it grants against her physical attacks can stall a push or save a key target, forcing Luna to either reposition or wait out the duration.

Fights usually depend on which hero gets to execute their plan first. Luna wants to activate Black King Bar, group with her team, and run straight at objectives or the real Arc Warden. She has to close the game out before he gets too many items. Arc Warden prefers to play from a distance, using his Tempest Double to split the map, wear down Luna's team from safety, and eventually find a pickoff on her with control items. The game often hangs on which carry can force their ideal engagement, making the outcome highly dependent on positioning and team execution.
