Arc Warden vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Splitting the map to farm with Tempest Double is central to Arc Warden’s game plan, but it’s exactly what Spectre wants to see. Spectre’s Haunt creates an illusion on the real Arc Warden, not his clone, instantly closing any distance he tried to create. He is a hero that relies on kiting from a safe position, but Spectre’s ultimate completely denies him that luxury. Her entire kit is built to find and punish isolated targets, and Arc Warden often plays isolated from his team by design, turning his own strength into a fatal weakness.

As the game progresses, this forces the Arc Warden player into a deeply uncomfortable position. Instead of creating pressure from afar, he has to huddle with his team for safety, limiting his farm and map control. A patient Spectre will simply farm her core items and wait for the moment Arc Warden gets greedy or is caught slightly out of position. Haunt becomes a death sentence. Arc’s main counterplay is to build defensively and never leave his team’s side, but that fundamentally cripples what his hero is designed to do.
