Axe vs Gyrocopter

How this matchup plays

Turning on Flak Cannon is a death trap against Axe. Every single Flak attack on Axe during a Berserker's Call gives a chance to trigger Counter Helix, flooding Gyrocopter and his nearby allies with spins. This gets even worse once Axe finishes a Blade Mail. The return damage from a full-duration Flak Cannon is often enough to kill Gyrocopter outright, turning his own primary damage source completely against him. He simply cannot afford to be caught by the taunt, which is Axe's entire purpose.

The whole mid-game for Axe becomes a simple hunt for Gyrocopter with a Blink Dagger. This forces Gyro to play from the absolute back lines, severely limiting his Flak Cannon's effectiveness and teamfight contribution. Gyrocopter can itemize for survival with things like a Black King Bar or a Force Staff, but a patient Axe can play around these timings or simply re-engage after the BKB expires. The threat is constant, forcing Gyro's team into awkward, spread-out formations to avoid sharing Counter Helix damage and making it much harder to protect their carry.
