How this matchup plays

Thinking about picking Mirana into an Axe often comes down to how much you trust your own positioning. The dynamic that makes them a great pair on the same team—Axe holding an enemy still for a Sacred Arrow—is exactly what makes him so dangerous to her. Mirana is fragile and can't survive being locked down by Berserker's Call. While Leap is a good escape tool, a well-timed Blink initiation from Axe can easily catch her before she can get away. Once held in place, she rarely survives the follow-up from Counter Helix and his team's focus fire.

Axe's game plan revolves around finding that one opening. He'll play in the fog with a Blink Dagger, waiting for Mirana to step forward to cast a spell or get a last hit. Her best defense is to play cautiously and use Moonlight Shadow to keep tabs on his movements, making it harder for him to find a surprise jump. She has the tools to stay safe, but the pressure is constantly on her to anticipate his aggression. He only needs to be right once, whereas she needs to be careful for the entire game.
