Axe vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to position for a teamfight as Sniper feels impossible against a good Axe. The entire fight revolves around whether Axe can land a Berserker's Call on you. Sniper relies on his long attack range to stay safe, but a Blink Dagger completely bypasses that defense. Once called, Sniper is helpless; he's forced to stand still and attack Axe, taking massive damage from Counter Helix spins and any follow-up from his team. Sniper is too fragile to survive this lockdown, making it a simple and repeatable kill for Axe.

This pressure starts the moment Axe gets his Blink Dagger and never lets up. Before that, Sniper can bully the lane, but it rarely translates into a lasting lead because Axe can recover in the jungle. Afterwards, Sniper has to play with constant fear, needing deep wards and teammates ready to save him. An item like a Force Staff helps, but it won't save him if he gets caught by the initial Call. The burden is entirely on the Sniper to have perfect positioning all game, while Axe has a straightforward plan to find and eliminate him.
