Axe vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Berserker's Call is often a death sentence for Templar Assassin. Her entire kit is built around high-instance physical burst, which gets completely turned against her by a simple Blade Mail. Axe can force her to attack him, reflecting her own damage and quickly burning through her fragile health pool. Because she can't activate items or abilities while taunted, she has no way to escape or mitigate this. Even if she survives the initial onslaught, Refraction offers no protection from Culling Blade, which cleanly executes her if she drops into its threshold. This makes Axe a direct and reliable answer to her typical glass-cannon approach.

The whole mid-game revolves around this dynamic. Once Axe gets his Blink Dagger, Templar Assassin can no longer farm aggressively or play separated from her team. Axe's primary job becomes finding her and initiating, effectively shutting down her ability to snowball. TA's main counter-play is to rush a Black King Bar to prevent the taunt and to position extremely carefully in fights, waiting for Axe to commit his spells on someone else. This forces her into a much more reactive and defensive posture than she wants to play, ceding control of the game's tempo to Axe's team.
