Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Death Prophet wins the Bane vs Death Prophet matchup: Death Prophet beats Bane in 51.42% of 7,034 ranked matches.
Running at a team with Exorcism feels powerful, but it's a risky play against a team with Bane. Fiend's Grip is a clean, simple answer that can lock Death Prophet down for most of her ultimate's duration, leaving her vulnerable and neutering her damage output. A well-timed Grip can completely waste her biggest cooldown. This isn't a guaranteed shutdown, however. A well-placed Silence from Death Prophet can stop Bane from casting anything at all, turning the fight in her favor instead. It really becomes a duel of initiation and positioning, but Bane having such a specific counter-spell for her main teamfight contribution gives him a noticeable, if slight, advantage in most games.
