Bane vs Faceless Void

How this matchup plays

Getting caught out of position is the main fear for Faceless Void here. Bane’s entire kit is designed to isolate and disable a single hero, and Fiend’s Grip is the perfect tool to stop Void before he can act. If you're caught without a pre-emptive Black King Bar, you're likely dead before you can even think about using Chronosphere. But Void isn't helpless. A well-timed Time Walk can dodge Bane's spells or even dispel Nightmare, turning a gank around. It’s a duel of who uses their key ability first.

This tension plays out across the whole game. Early on, Bane can try to shut down Void’s farm with Enfeeble, but a reactive lane partner can negate that pressure. Later, teamfights revolve around this initiation standoff. If Void catches Bane in a good Chronosphere, the enemy team loses its best single-target control. If Bane survives the initial chaos and grips Void before he uses BKB, the fight is often over. Both heroes force the other to play with respect, which keeps things balanced.
