Bane vs Jakiro

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Bane feels like a death sentence for Jakiro. The two-headed dragon relies on casting spells from a safe distance, but Fiend's Grip completely removes him from a fight for its entire duration. Jakiro has no innate escape and his long cast animations for abilities like Ice Path make him an easy target to begin with. Even during the laning stage, Bane can often negate Jakiro's poke damage from Liquid Fire by healing himself with Brain Sap, making it hard to establish any real pressure.

Throughout the game, Bane's primary job is to find and disable a key hero, and Jakiro is often the easiest one to isolate. A single successful Fiend's Grip on Jakiro before a teamfight begins can neutralize all of his area control, leaving his team exposed. To have an impact, Jakiro is forced to play extremely far back, hoping to land a Macropyre or Ice Path from the fog of war. It's telling that their kits clash even on the same team; Bane's single-target lockdown simply deals with Jakiro's telegraphed, wide-area spells very efficiently.
