How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target is Ursa’s entire game, and Bane has multiple ways to stop it. Nightmare can completely reset Ursa's aggression, letting the target walk away. The bigger problem is Fiend's Grip. It holds Ursa in place for a long time, often forcing him to use Enrage defensively, wasting its duration while he can't attack. This single interaction can shut down a gank or turn a teamfight around by neutralizing Ursa at the exact moment he wants to be most dangerous.

This dynamic creates a constant threat that shapes Ursa's game. He can't safely take Roshan or commit to a fight if Bane is off the map, which can slow down his momentum. This often forces an earlier Black King Bar purchase, sometimes delaying other core items. Bane, in turn, can play with confidence, holding his spells to counter the enemy's main threat. It’s not a complete shutdown, as a smart Ursa can wait for Bane's spells to be used elsewhere, but having that direct answer is often enough to tip the scales.
