Bane vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down an enemy with Fiend's Grip becomes a gamble against a Vengeful Spirit. Her Nether Swap is a clean and immediate answer, breaking the channel from a safe distance and saving her teammate. This interaction puts Bane in a tough position, as his most important teamfight spell has a direct and reliable counter available on a support. While Bane's other spells are still useful for setting up kills and winning lanes, having his ultimate's impact threatened so directly is a consistent problem.

This forces Bane to play cautiously around mid-game objectives. He has to wait for Vengeful Spirit to be out of position, dead, or for Swap to be on cooldown before he can confidently commit Fiend's Grip on a priority target. This hesitation can lose a fight on its own. Vengeful Spirit’s team can play with more confidence knowing their core has an escape from Bane's ultimate. This doesn't stop Bane from being effective, but it creates a recurring obstacle that slightly tilts fights toward Vengeful Spirit.
