Beastmaster vs Lion

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's tempo can feel a bit sluggish for Beastmaster when Lion is on the other team. The main issue is that Lion's Hex or Earth Spike can instantly neutralize a charging Boar, which is a key part of setting up kills. This doesn't stop a gank entirely, but it can force a retreat or the commitment of other spells. With Mana Drain keeping his resources topped off, Lion can consistently apply this pressure across the map, potentially delaying Beastmaster’s pushes and objective timings.

As the game progresses, Beastmaster has to play around Lion’s position. A good Lion will save his disables to counter an initiation, either by stopping the Boar or saving an ally caught by Primal Roar. However, the advantage is minor because Beastmaster can still find opportunities. A well-timed initiation can catch Lion himself, and Primal Roar is a reliable way to do so. The matchup often comes down to positioning and cooldown management from both sides, creating a consistent but small point of friction for Beastmaster.
