Beastmaster vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a Primal Roar on the enemy backline can feel hopeless against a Sniper. Beastmaster's entire initiation plan relies on getting close, but Sniper’s long attack range allows him to position far behind his own front line. The Hawk from Call of the Wild might provide vision, but actually covering that ground is another matter. Sniper can use Shrapnel to slow down any approach, making it easy for him to kite and whittle away at Beastmaster or his summoned boars before they can ever become a threat. Wild Axes simply don't have the range or impact to stop Sniper from freely attacking.

This dynamic defines the entire game. Beastmaster is forced to buy a Blink Dagger and hope for a perfect, unseen initiation to have any chance of killing Sniper. Without that ideal jump, Sniper will methodically dismantle Beastmaster's team from a safe distance. The onus is entirely on the Beastmaster and his allies to coordinate a dive, while the Sniper player's job is comparatively simple: stand back, use Shrapnel for control, and attack whoever gets close. If Sniper’s team provides even basic protection, it becomes incredibly difficult for Beastmaster to execute his game plan.
