Beastmaster vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to bring down a farmed Spectre feels awful for Beastmaster. All his summons, like the Boar, end up hurting him more than they hurt her because of Dispersion. She reflects damage back to everything that hits her, and it adds up fast across a whole zoo. While Primal Roar is a great single-target stun, it’s rarely enough on its own to secure a kill against such a durable hero. Spectre doesn't need to fear Beastmaster's army; she can often stand her ground and fight through it, especially if she catches him isolated where Desolate can shred him.

This timing mismatch defines the entire game. Beastmaster wants to push hard with his team and end early, but Spectre is perfectly happy to give up outer towers in exchange for safe farm. She completely sidesteps his mid-game power spike by simply not being there, farming the opposite side of the map until she's ready. Once she has her core items, Haunt lets her punish any overextension. Beastmaster wants to control the map and pick his fights, but Spectre's global presence means the fight can always come to him, whether he's ready or not.
