Beastmaster vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by a Beastmaster feels awful as Storm Spirit. The vision from Call of the Wild's hawk means you can be seen long before you want to be, and Primal Roar is a long, BKB-piercing stun that you can't dodge with Ball Lightning once it connects. On the other hand, Beastmaster has no escape mechanism and is fairly fragile. If Storm Spirit gets the drop on him, he can be pulled in and burst down before he can react. These two heroes create a game of cat and mouse, where whoever gets the first clean initiation almost always secures the kill.

This dynamic means both players have to adjust their game plan. Beastmaster can't afford to be isolated while pushing lanes, and needs his team nearby to follow up on a successful Roar. Storm Spirit has to play patiently, waiting for Beastmaster to use his ultimate on a different target or looking for an angle where he can't be seen. The game often boils down to which hero can more effectively control the engagement: the big teamfight initiator or the elusive solo killer. The outcome is rarely certain for either side.
