Beastmaster vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to pin down a Windranger can be frustrating for Beastmaster. Her Windrun makes her immune to the physical damage from his summons, forcing him to rely almost entirely on his ultimate to hold her in place. Without a Primal Roar, he has very little way to stop her from simply running away. On the other side, Windranger can struggle to find good Shackleshot angles when Beastmaster is surrounded by his own units, and clearing his boar and hawk takes time away from damaging him directly. It's a trade-off where each hero's primary tools are somewhat blunted by the other.

The result is a game that hinges on timing and positioning. If Beastmaster catches Windranger out of position with a Roar, his team can collapse on her before she can escape. Conversely, if Windranger gets the jump from a good angle, she can often burst Beastmaster down with Focus Fire before his summons become a real threat. Both heroes prefer to set the tempo for their team, but they do it in ways that don't directly negate the other's game plan. Fights often depend more on which hero's allies are better equipped to handle the other's specific threat.
