How this matchup plays

Turning Beastmaster's own zoo against his team is the core issue in this matchup. Winter's Curse thrives on punishing heroes who group up with lots of physical damage units, which is Beastmaster's entire strategy. The more boars and dominated creeps he amasses, the more dangerous her ultimate becomes for his own cores. Even when Beastmaster finds a perfect Primal Roar initiation, Winter Wyvern can completely negate the follow-up damage with a well-timed Cold Embrace on the target. This single save often wastes his longest cooldown and leaves his team without their primary kill threat.

This dynamic consistently disrupts Beastmaster’s game plan. He wants to leverage his army to pressure towers after securing a pick-off, but Wyvern foils this at every stage. She saves the initial target, then uses his own summons against him in the ensuing fight. Arctic Burn also allows her to safely kite and clear his units from a distance, bleeding him of resources and pressure. Beastmaster is forced to play around her saves and ultimate, often needing to avoid fights entirely and split-push, which severely limits his impact as an initiator.
