Bristleback vs Huskar

How this matchup plays

Thinking Huskar’s low-health magic resistance makes him a good duelist here is a common trap. The fight dynamic plays directly into Bristleback’s hands. Huskar needs to be at low health to maximize his own damage and defenses via Berserker’s Blood, but that defense is entirely magical. Bristleback deals almost exclusively physical damage through Quill Spray and right-clicks. So as Huskar gets lower and stronger against magic, he becomes more and more vulnerable to the stacks of physical damage Bristleback is steadily building up. He has the wrong kind of durability for this specific fight.

This problem gets worse for Huskar as the game progresses. A farmed Bristleback can often ignore Inner Fire and simply run him down with Warpath speed and Viscous Nasal Goo slows, especially after Huskar commits with Life Break on any target. Huskar has to rely on his team to build a huge early advantage or bring specific counters like break. Otherwise, Bristleback can treat him as a priority target to kill, turning Huskar's own aggression into a liability. Their kits are so at odds that they tend to step on each other's toes even when on the same team.
