Bristleback vs Monkey King

How this matchup plays

Using Wukong’s Command near Bristleback is often a death sentence for Monkey King. Each soldier's attack can trigger a reactive Quill Spray, turning the ultimate into a massive source of self-damage. Bristleback can stand in the middle of it, face away, and melt Monkey King without needing to right-click. This core interaction extends to all of MK’s trading. To build up Jingu Mastery, he has to land several hits, but each one feeds Bristleback's own damage output. It creates a situation where Monkey King’s main combo actively helps kill him.

This lopsided trade defines the matchup from the very first waves. Monkey King can’t bully the lane and struggles to find the farm he needs to get ahead. Later on, Bristleback becomes a frontline problem that MK has no answer for. He can’t be burst down, and ignoring him means letting him run rampant through the backline with slows and stacking damage. Monkey King is forced to avoid him entirely, hoping his team has enough magic burst and control to handle a hero he can't touch without killing himself.
