Broodmother vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Trying to overwhelm Phantom Assassin with a swarm of spiderlings is often less effective than it is against other heroes. Her passive evasion from Blur means a good portion of those small, rapid attacks will miss, reducing Broodmother's kill potential and farm denial. While a massive number of spiders can still get damage through, PA's ability to mitigate incoming physical damage without any active input gives her a baseline durability that is difficult for Brood to deal with, especially in the early to mid game before Broodmother has damage items.

This dynamic forces Broodmother to rely more on her own right-clicks and Insatiable Hunger to secure kills on Phantom Assassin, which is tough if PA plays cautiously. Brood's best bet is to apply immense pressure on the rest of the map and end the game before PA can acquire cleave. Once Phantom Assassin has a way to clear the spider swarms quickly, she can turn Brood's army into a source of gold and largely ignore her pressure. The matchup tilts slightly toward PA because her kit naturally scales better against Brood's signature strategy.
