Broodmother vs Shadow Shaman

How this matchup plays

Trying to control a lane as Broodmother feels uncomfortable against a Shadow Shaman. His kit provides multiple long-duration disables with Hex and Shackles, which are great tools for pinning her down even inside her own webs. This makes it much harder for Broodmother to escape ganks or effectively fight back when focused. While she relies on being a slippery, hard-to-catch threat, Shadow Shaman offers a simple way to interrupt her movement and aggression. His Mass Serpent Ward can also help clear out her Spiderlings and contribute damage while she's held in place.

This dynamic forces Broodmother to play with more caution throughout the game. Later on, when she tries to split-push and take map control, Shadow Shaman is an effective response, able to rotate for a long disable that sets up a kill. Broodmother's success often relies on tracking his position and building items like a Black King Bar to block his spells. If she can play around his cooldowns or catch him out of position, she can certainly win the engagement, but his lockdown remains a consistent threat to her game plan.
