Broodmother vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map often comes down to a standoff between these two. Broodmother wants to spread her webs everywhere, creating a network to farm and push towers that an immobile hero like Sniper can't contest on his own. Her spiderlings are meant to overwhelm him in a fight. However, Sniper's Shrapnel is a natural answer. He can use it from a safe distance to clear out spiderlings, gain vision inside the webs, and generally make it very difficult for Brood to build up her army and territory. This core interaction prevents either hero from easily dominating the other.

The laning stage can be a real struggle for Broodmother if Sniper plays it right, using his range and Shrapnel to keep her contained. A Brood player has to find a different angle of attack, often waiting for a power spike or a gank to close the distance. Later in the game, it all comes down to positioning. If Sniper is left alone in the back, he can mow down the spider army and kite the main hero. But if Broodmother gets a clean jump on him with her team's help, Sniper has very few ways to escape the swarm and its slows.
