Broodmother vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Controlling a lane against Broodmother often comes down to clearing her spiders. Windranger is well-equipped for this with Powershot, which can destroy waves of spiderlings from a safe distance. The problem for Broodmother is that she needs to close the distance to be a threat, but Windranger can often escape with Windrun, completely nullifying all the physical damage from Brood and her army. This creates a standoff where Brood has to bait out the spell or get a perfectly timed jump to secure a kill, while Windranger has to carefully manage her mana and positioning.

The entire game can hinge on how this early phase plays out. If Broodmother gets an advantage, she can quickly overwhelm Windranger and start taking objectives. If Windranger wins the lane, she keeps Brood from ever hitting a critical mass of spiders and farm, effectively neutralizing her as a threat.
