Chaos Knight vs Monkey King

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Chaos Knight down is a huge problem for Monkey King. Much of Monkey King's damage relies on landing repeated hits to build up Jingu Mastery, but Phantasm makes it incredibly difficult to focus the real hero. Even if Monkey King guesses right or tries to use Wukong's Command, Chaos Knight can simply use Reality Rift to pull him into a swarm of illusions that will burn through his health. The illusions are tanky enough to survive most of Monkey King’s area damage, turning his own ultimate into a death trap for him.

This power dynamic lets Chaos Knight dictate the pace of the game. Monkey King wants to be an active, aggressive hero who creates space by finding pickoffs from the trees, but he can't play that way when a single Reality Rift means certain death. He's forced into a defensive posture, often having to itemize for survival instead of damage, which slows his whole game down. This allows Chaos Knight to farm more safely, pressure objectives, and ultimately close out the map before Monkey King ever gets a chance to come online.
