How this matchup plays

Trying to run down Medusa early with a creep army seems like the play, but it often backfires. Her Split Shot is the perfect tool for clearing out Chen's converts, turning his primary source of pressure into a steady stream of gold for her. Any gank attempt also runs into the problem of her Mana Shield, which is more than enough to absorb the sustained, lower-impact damage from Chen and his summons. Mystic Snake can even bounce between the hero and his creeps to drain his limited mana pool. Instead of creating pressure, Chen ends up feeding the enemy carry and accelerating the game toward the one point where he has no answers.
