Clinkz vs Lich

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a hero as Clinkz feels a lot less certain when Lich is nearby. The instant a gank starts, Lich can cast Frost Shield on the target, adding a layer of durability that often stops the kill. The slow from that shield also makes it very hard for Clinkz to finish the job with Burning Barrage and makes him vulnerable to a counter-attack. While Clinkz's skeletons from Burning Army can be good for zoning, they also give Lich's Chain Frost more targets to bounce between, which can backfire badly in a cramped fight.

This dynamic shapes how both heroes have to play the map. Clinkz is forced to be much more selective, often having to hunt for Lich himself or a hero that has strayed far from his protection. In response, Lich wants to stay grouped with his team to provide that defensive cover, slowing down the pace of Clinkz's snowball. The outcome of a fight often hinges on whether Clinkz can secure a pick-off before Lich can react, or if Lich's defensive spells and ultimate can keep his team alive long enough to turn the tables.
