Clinkz vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Morphling from stealth is a coin flip. Clinkz brings a massive amount of physical damage very quickly, which should be perfect for picking off a lone core. The problem is Morphling’s Attribute Shift. If he has mana and isn't silenced, he can swap his agility for strength, gaining a huge amount of health and surviving the initial assault. The entire interaction comes down to whether Clinkz can apply damage faster than Morphling can shift his attributes, or if he can catch him drained of mana.

This dynamic makes their encounters feel inconsistent across a game. A successful gank for Clinkz requires catching Morphling out of position with low mana, or bringing an Orchid Malevolence to prevent the shift entirely. For Morphling, survival is about respecting Clinkz's position and having the reflexes to shift and Waveform away when jumped. If he survives the first few seconds, his naturally high armor and ability to stun with Adaptive Strike can often turn the fight back on a fragile Clinkz.
