Clinkz vs Rubick

How this matchup plays

Catching Rubick out of position is one of the easiest ways for Clinkz to secure a kill. The whole game for a hero like Rubick is about finding the right spell to steal and using Telekinesis to control a fight, but Clinkz offers very little for him to work with. Skeleton Walk is a decent escape, but it isn't what Rubick wants. The only high-value spell to steal is Burning Barrage, but that requires Rubick to survive the channel in the first place, which is unlikely without help. This makes Clinkz a frustrating and dangerous opponent.

This dynamic forces Rubick to play a much more defensive game. He can’t safely push out lanes or place deep wards alone, as Clinkz can appear from stealth and execute him before a lift can even land. Rubick's success in the matchup often depends on getting life-saving items like a Glimmer Cape or Force Staff early, and staying close to his teammates. Clinkz gets a slight advantage because he dictates the terms of engagement and forces the enemy team to spend resources and attention protecting their support.
