How this matchup plays

Trying to survive a gank with Refraction feels hopeless against Clinkz. His entire damage kit, particularly Burning Barrage, unleashes a huge volley of separate attacks in a very short window. This instantly strips away all of Templar Assassin's defensive charges, leaving her completely exposed to the rest of the damage. While she relies on blocking a few big hits to turn a fight or escape, Clinkz bypasses that entire mechanic from the very start of the engagement, effectively treating her as if she has no defensive spell at all.

This advantage for Clinkz defines the matchup from the first wave. He can easily pressure Templar Assassin out of lane, disrupting her farm and delaying her core item timings. Later in the game, she can’t safely split push or farm aggressively because an invisible Clinkz is always a threat to appear and kill her before she can even react. Her best bet is to play with her team and avoid isolated fights, while Clinkz actively seeks her out to shut down her impact and secure control of the map.
