Clinkz vs Winter Wyvern

How this matchup plays

Saving an ally from a Clinkz gank with Cold Embrace sounds straightforward, but it's a real test of reaction time. Clinkz unloads all his damage almost instantly, so if Winter Wyvern is even slightly late with the save, the target is already dead. Even if the save lands, a smart Clinkz can often switch focus to a different hero or back off safely with his invisibility. Winter's Curse can also be awkward to use against him. When Clinkz is hunting solo, using the ultimate on him might not accomplish much if his allies aren't around to be hit by his attacks. It becomes a defensive stun rather than a fight-winning lockdown.

The mid-game revolves around this dynamic. Winter Wyvern has to shadow her vulnerable cores, ready to cast Embrace at a moment's notice. A successful save can completely turn a gank around, leaving Clinkz exposed and his long cooldowns wasted. For Clinkz, the goal is to secure kills so quickly that a save isn't possible, or to bait out the spell and re-engage. Later on, Clinkz has to be more careful about teamfighting into a Winter's Curse, but he can also prioritize bursting Wyvern down first before she can disrupt his plans.
