Crystal Maiden vs Medusa

How this matchup plays

Slowing down Medusa's farm is the main path to victory against her, and Crystal Maiden is well-equipped for the job. Constant pressure from Crystal Nova's slow and Frostbite's root makes it dangerous for Medusa to approach the creep wave in the early game. This creates space for your own core to get ahead and limits the gold Medusa needs to build up her Mana Shield. While Mystic Snake can drain some mana, it's often not enough to stop the repeated lockdown that leads to a gank, setting back her item timings significantly.

The game becomes a race against the clock. The Crystal Maiden's team needs to use their early power to secure objectives and map control, continuing to find and kill Medusa wherever she tries to farm. If successful, they can end the game before she becomes a problem. Medusa's team must play defensively, provide vision, and create enough space for her to recover. If the game goes late, Medusa's raw tankiness and damage can overcome CM's control, especially since Stone Gaze is a clean answer to a channeled Freezing Field.
