How this matchup plays

Jumping on Medusa with Solar Guardian can completely disrupt her slow start to the game. Medusa needs a lot of space to farm safely, and she lacks the mobility to escape when ganked. Dawnbreaker turns any aggression from her allies into a serious threat by arriving with a stun and a burst of healing and damage. This constant global pressure forces Medusa to play much more cautiously, slowing down the item progression she absolutely relies on to come online and function in fights.

This pressure continues into the mid-game, where Medusa wants to be clearing jungle camps. Dawnbreaker and her team can invade and force fights, knowing she can join from anywhere. The Medusa's team is forced to invest more resources into protecting her, which can starve their other cores. The advantage is only slight because a well-protected Medusa who survives the early pressure can still become a problem. If Dawnbreaker can't find successful ganks, Medusa will eventually get farmed enough to shrug off the initiation and win the late game.
