Dawnbreaker vs Monkey King

How this matchup plays

Fighting inside Wukong's Command is a nightmare for most heroes, but Dawnbreaker can simply walk in and challenge Monkey King directly. Her own AoE damage from Starbreaker and Celestial Hammer ignores the soldiers and lets her trade hits with the real target. Monkey King needs time and space to build up Jingu Mastery stacks for his damage, but Dawnbreaker is naturally tanky and her own burst comes out much faster. She’s built to win a committed, head-on brawl, which is exactly the situation Monkey King’s ultimate tries to create, but on his terms.

This advantage for Dawnbreaker shapes the entire game. Monkey King struggles to secure lane dominance and can't easily punish her aggression. As he looks for pickoffs with Tree Dance, Dawnbreaker can instantly counter-gank with Solar Guardian from anywhere on the map, turning his hunt into a trap. This forces Monkey King into a difficult position: he can’t fight her directly, and he can’t safely fight her teammates either. He’s an aggressive hero who finds himself unable to dictate the pace of the fight against a hero that can always show up.
