How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a real tug-of-war during teamfights. Witch Doctor wants to secure a kill with Maledict into a full Death Ward channel, but Dazzle's Shallow Grave is the textbook counter to that plan. A well-timed Grave on the focused target can completely waste Witch Doctor's ultimate, leaving him vulnerable after his channel ends. On the flip side, Dazzle himself is fragile and an ideal target for Paralyzing Cask. If he gets caught by a stun, he can easily be burst down before he gets a chance to cast Grave on anyone.

This tension defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. Fights often come down to which support has better positioning or gets initiated on first. If Dazzle is able to save his core from the Death Ward, his team likely wins the engagement.
