Doom vs Earth Spirit

How this matchup plays

Securing a kill after landing the Doom ultimate becomes less certain when an Earth Spirit is on the other team. His entire kit is based on repositioning heroes, and he can often use his kick or pull to move a doomed ally out of danger before they die. This doesn't negate the spell, but it can turn a guaranteed kill into a simple, temporary silence. The constant threat of this save means Doom and his team can't be as confident in their initiations. It adds an extra layer of execution required to make Doom's primary spell effective.

Throughout the mid-game, this interaction forces the Doom player to adjust their priorities. Instead of dooming the most valuable enemy core, they might have to target Earth Spirit himself first, or wait until his repositioning spells are on cooldown. Earth Spirit also has enough disruption with his roll and silence to be a general nuisance, making it harder for Doom to find a good position to start a fight. While a well-farmed Doom can eventually ignore this, the early tempo and control provided by Earth Spirit is often enough to give his team a small but consistent advantage.
