Picking a support into Doom often means looking for reliable control, and Lion offers a couple of useful tools. His Hex is an instant disable that can cancel Doom's ultimate if you're fast enough. More importantly, Mana Drain is a constant threat to Doom, who relies on having enough mana for his expensive ultimate. A successful drain before a fight can completely neutralize Doom's impact, forcing him to either retreat or walk around as a big creep with no spells. This interaction gives Lion's team a direct, renewable answer to one of the most intimidating single-target spells in the game.

The actual game often becomes a cat-and-mouse of positioning. Lion wants to play from the back lines or in fog, draining Doom's mana pool before he can initiate.
