Doom vs Magnus

How this matchup plays

Casting Doom on Magnus before he can act is the ideal scenario, completely removing him from a fight. The problem is getting there. A good Magnus can use Horn Toss or Skewer to create distance or interrupt a channel, and once he has a Blink Dagger, he's always threatening a multi-hero Reverse Polarity. This turns fights into a standoff where both heroes want to initiate, but neither can afford to be the one who gets caught first. It forces a game of vision control and careful positioning, as the hero who gets the jump usually sets the terms for the entire engagement.

As the game develops, both heroes look to enable their team by controlling the most important enemy. Doom's plan is to find one hero and delete them, while Magnus aims to lock down several heroes for his team to clean up. Neither hero's strategy is inherently better against the other; it's a race to see who can execute their plan more effectively. The winner is often decided by which team is better prepared to follow up on their initiator's specific spell. It’s a matchup that relies heavily on team coordination and who blinks first.
