Doom vs Mars

How this matchup plays

Getting trapped inside your own Arena of Blood becomes a nightmare against this hero. Mars relies on his abilities to control a fight and on Bulwark to survive, but Doom's ultimate shuts all of that off. Once doomed, Mars loses the damage reduction from the front, making him surprisingly fragile to physical attacks. More importantly, he’s silenced and muted, unable to Spear anyone against the wall or Rebuke them. A hero who is supposed to be the center of a chaotic fight is turned into a helpless punching bag who can't use any of his tools.

This makes teamfights incredibly straightforward for one side and a puzzle for the other. As soon as Mars appears and tries to set up a fight, Doom’s only job is to find him and press one button. A successful Doom cast completely neutralizes Mars’s contribution for its entire duration, often turning a key initiation into a lost fight. The Mars team is forced to play on the back foot, constantly worried about where Doom is and needing specific items or heroes to save their initiator, while the Doom team gets to execute a simple, winning game plan.
