Drow Ranger vs Gyrocopter

How this matchup plays

Trying to get on top of Drow Ranger as Gyrocopter feels impossible. Drow's Frost Arrows constantly slow Gyrocopter, preventing him from closing the distance to use Rocket Barrage or get value from Flak Cannon. Even if he manages to get close, a well-timed Gust silences and pushes him out of the fight entirely. This creates the exact space Drow Ranger needs to keep her Marksmanship active and pour damage into him from a safe distance. Gyrocopter wants to be in the thick of the fight, but Drow’s core abilities are designed to prevent exactly that.

This dynamic dictates how teamfights play out. Drow Ranger can simply kite Gyrocopter for the entire duration of a fight, rendering his damage output minimal. The Gyrocopter player is forced to rely on gap-closing items like a Blink Dagger and hope his team can lock Drow down instantly. Drow, on the other hand, can simply position herself behind her team, using them as a buffer while she safely eliminates Gyrocopter before he can ever become a threat. The pressure to make a perfect initiation is entirely on the Gyrocopter's team.
