Drow Ranger vs Lich

How this matchup plays

Slowing down Drow Ranger seems straightforward, but Lich often finds it harder than it looks. While Frost Shield and his other slows are definitely a problem for her, the matchup frequently comes down to a single interaction. Drow Ranger’s Gust provides a perfect, instant answer to Sinister Gaze. The silence and knockback not only interrupt the channel but also create the distance she needs to re-engage or escape. This turns fights into a duel of cooldowns and reflexes. If Lich can’t bait out the Gust or catch her without it, he struggles to lock her down for his team.

Early on, Lich can make laning very difficult by using Frost Shield to protect his core from Drow's harass. Teamfights are a tense positioning game for both heroes. Drow has to stay far from her allies to avoid a devastating Chain Frost, while constantly watching for Lich to appear. For his part, Lich is always looking for that one angle to get in range for Sinister Gaze before she can react. The outcome often depends entirely on who acts first; a successful Gust saves Drow and her team, while a successful Gaze gets her killed and likely loses the fight.
